NCCC Centennial Celebration

Our Centennial Celebration was a memorable day honoring 100 years of golf, friendship, and community at Nevada County Country Club.

The festivities began with a sold-out Centennial Open Golf Tournament, filling the course with members and guests enjoying a day of friendly competition. The clubhouse was adorned with festive centennial decorations, creating the perfect backdrop for this historic milestone. Golfers also had the opportunity to win a brand-new Double Eagle golf cart with a hole-in-one, but despite several close attempts, the prize remains unclaimed.

Following the tournament, participants gathered for a delicious lunch prepared by Executive Chef Melissa Aragon, formerly of Bistro 221, before the celebration continued into the afternoon with a community open house. Families and friends enjoyed live music by Al Aragon, face painting, Lazy Dog Ice Cream, swimming, lawn games, and activities for all ages.

One of the day’s most meaningful moments was the unveiling of our Centennial Monument, a lasting tribute to legendary golf course architect Sam Whiting, whose vision helped shape Nevada County Country Club a century ago.

We are especially grateful to the many local businesses that generously donated silent auction and raffle prizes. Their support helped make the celebration a success while raising funds for future club enhancements.

As we celebrate our first 100 years, we also look forward to the next century. We invite you to stop by for lunch, served daily from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., or enjoy a round of golf on our historic course. Public tee times are available every afternoon, and we welcome golfers of all skill levels to experience one of California’s hidden gems.
